PetSkill Privacy Policy

The short version: PetSkill doesn't collect anything about you. You don't make an account, there are no ads or trackers, and what you type into the app stays on your phone.
Who I am
I make PetSkill on my own and publish it under the name Great Lair. If you have any question about this page or about your data, email me at support.petskill@greatlair.com and I'll answer it myself.
What the app keeps, and where
To remember where you left off, PetSkill saves a few things in its own storage on your phone:
- your pets' names, species, breed and birth month
- a photo of your pet, if you add one
- training progress, streaks, badges, XP and which sections you've read
- your settings, like sounds, your daily goal and the reminder time
None of this is sent anywhere. PetSkill doesn't have a server, so there's nowhere for it to go, and I never see it. If you back up your iPhone, the app's data may be part of that backup, which Apple looks after under its own privacy terms.
Photos
PetSkill only asks to see your photos when you tap to add a picture of your pet. The one you choose stays on your phone as that pet's profile picture.
Reminders
If you turn on the daily reminder, your phone schedules it by itself, and nothing goes through a server. You can change or stop it anytime in the Menu tab or in your iPhone's Settings.
Buying me a beer
"Buy me a beer" is a tip for my work and a way to say thank you. Apple handles the payment through the App Store, so I never see your name, email or card details. Apple only sends me anonymous sales totals, the same as it does for every app.
Things PetSkill doesn't do
- ask you to sign up or log in
- show ads (this version has none)
- use analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools
- sell or share data, since it doesn't collect any in the first place
Children
PetSkill is meant for pet owners and isn't aimed at children under 13. It doesn't collect personal data from anyone, children included.
Deleting your data
You can remove a single pet from the Menu tab (tap the pencil next to it), wipe everything with Reset all progress at the bottom of the Menu tab, or simply delete the app, which removes all of its data from your phone.
If this changes
I'm thinking about adding one small ad banner in a later version. If I do, or if anything else changes the way PetSkill handles data, I'll update this page and the App Store privacy details before that version comes out.
